ALL HIKERS

PREFACE

I am doing a Royal Arch hike in a few days, so I really need to get some actual trail exercise to get in better shape.  I try to get a permit down to Horseshoe Mesa, but they are full.  I consider Cottonwood Creek, but that's a pretty dull route, so I decide to go down to the Tanner Redwall where the views of the River are fantastic.

I leave the Backcountry Office and drive to Lipan Point, have lunch in the car, and get my stuff ready.  The parking lot is packed with lots of people taking in the views.  I finally leave just after noon.
