My regular hiking buddy, Keith Beaty, and I decide to do a New Hance -
Tonto - Grandview hike. This will allow Keith to pick up one of
the last sections on the South side that he has not done: that
stretch between Hance Rapids and Hance Creek. We are doing this
hike in a counter-clockwise direction as neither of us is enthusiastic
about going up the New Hance again. Going down it is not a lot of
fun either, but it sure beats going up it. Our plan is for nights
at Hance Rapids, Hance Creek, and Cottonwood Creek.
