Ever since Bob Bordasch went to the top of Racetrack Knoll several years ago (Bob's trip report), I have wanted to do this trip.  I tried his identical hike solo two years ago and almost got flushed out of Ojojojo Canyon when huge thunderstorms caused a flash flood that took my tent and other gear away (2010 Sowats Point trip report).  Joining me on this try will be Keith Beaty and Bob Holland.  We have done numerous hikes together.

     Our plan is to go from Sowats Point to the Esplanade, travel south a little ways until reaching Ojojojo Canyon, hike down it until reaching Indian Hollow, proceed up that about one mile, and make camp for three nights.  On the second day, we will then do a day hike up to the top of Racetrack Knoll and back to our campsite.  Our third day plan is to explore some out on Fishtail Mesa.  On our fourth and fifth days, we are going to travel to Mountain Sheep Spring in Sowats Canyon where we plan to do the loop hike just to the north of there.
