ALL HIKERS

DAY 3: LAYOVER DAY NEAR THE HIDDEN POOL

We awake around 6:00 to the sound of rain drops.  Yikes!!  I've got to get outside and put the fly on my tent so my gear and I will stay dry.  After some brief discussions with Bob and Keith, we decide to make this a layover day and not try to move camp later to Chamberlain Canyon.  Anyway, it's no fun hiking in the rain, which continues to come down for several hours.  We get a reprieve around noon.

We have been having all our meals at a spot on the other side of the creek bed with some nice flat rocks.  After lunch I venture up the sand bar on that side of the creek and get a picture of an animal skull that someone has found and placed high on the wall.

A day of rest is kind of nice and gives us a chance to recover some.  Our revised plan for tomorrow is a day hike to Chamberlain Canyon if the weather cooperates.
