The Cliff Spring Trail begins at the turnoff just before the Angel's Window and Cape Royal Point. There is enough parking for three or four cars. The trail begins a moderate descent and follows a creek bed for about a quarter mile.
I reach the spring in about fifteen minutes. Similar to Dripping Springs on the South Rim, water drips from a ceiling cavity of the cliff overhang and forms a pool below. The area is lush with ferns.
This is the view of the Cliff overhang area on the return trip to the trailhead. This was a very pleasant short day hike. The total trip takes less than an hour and is only one-half mile each way. If you are visiting Cape Royal and the Angel's Window, I highly recommend that you take this hike. MAIN INDEX | BACK TO TRIP REPORTS | BACK TO NORTH RIM DAY HIKES
