This is one of those Tonto Trail hikes I have been wanting to do for some time.  I will be hiking with my long time friend, Art Just, his son, Tom, and one of my contributing authors, Marsha.  Each of us has hiked with some of the others, but this is the first time all four of us are together on the same hike.

     We plan to go down the Grandview Trail, west on the Tonto Trail, and come up the Bright Angel Trail, spending five nights in the Canyon.  I have used the foot anti-perspirant trick and I will have my GPS and pocket sized digital recorder.  Our plan is to meet at the Backcountry Office at 7:00 A.M. tomorrow and take Tom's pickup to the trailhead.
