ALL HIKERS

PREFACE

Megan is in her late 30's and is nursing an infected knee. She is just getting off her IV antibiotics with a new prescription of oral ones to take on the trip. Megan is an athlete though and up for the challenge. It’s also been a long time since she has had a chance to get out in the wilds, having spent the last four years in school and working toward a second career.

Sue is in her late 40's and this will be her first backpacking experience. I’m not sure how smart the Boucher is for a first Grand Canyon hike, but it’s the trail I wanted to do and got the permit for and she is willing to give it a shot. She has been hiking a lot to prepare, but has not lost the weight she wanted to loose. She is excited and nervous about this hike.

I am 46. In my 20's I did a lot of backpacking in the Canyon. Life and a lot of extra pounds piled up in my 30's and I drifted away from my passion. A few years ago I decided I needed to hike the Canyon again and started a fitness program with the goal of doing a solo rim to rim to rim hike on my 45th birthday. I successfully completed that goal last August, having a blast.
